The AU-EU summit will conclude in Angola

Luanda, Nov 25 (Prensa Latina) The seventh Summit of the African Union (AU) and the European Union (EU) concludes in Angola with the adoption of the Luanda Declaration, which will guide bilateral relations for the next three years.

On the eve of the summit, Angolan President and AU Chairperson Joao Lourenco expressed his satisfaction for the high level of attendance by heads of state and government, as well as representatives from member countries of each bloc, among other guests.

He also expressed his satisfaction that the work on the adoption of the Declaration was well advanced, even before the first day of discussions began.

According to the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the summit attracted more than 80 delegations to the country, a record for the African nation in terms of the number of dignitaries received.

This Tuesday, the summit’s work begins behind closed doors, where participants will address the second key theme of the meeting: Prosperity, People – Migration and Mobility.

In addition, attendees will hear the Declaration of the Representative of the Business Forum, held concurrently, and the Declaration of the Representative of the youth and civil society meeting, held on November 20 and 21.

The closing ceremony is scheduled for around 1:00 p.m. local time.
