The Director General of Renewable Energy, Eniya Listiani Dewi, stated that the plan prioritizes the availability of green hydrogen on the market with 200 tons annually, as well as its application in industry and transportation.
She specified that implementation will be carried out in stages, beginning with an initial phase between 2025 and 2034, followed by a development and integration period from 2035 to 2045, and an acceleration and sustainability phase until 2060.
Indonesia has also strengthened its cooperation with Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), combining Japanese technology, expertise, and financing with the country’s renewable energy potential.
The Indonesia-Japan bilateral roadmap aims to boost industrial partnerships and accelerate hydrogen infrastructure projects through public financing and early-stage risk mitigation mechanisms.
JICA representatives emphasized that this collaboration supports President Prabowo Subianto’s government’s priorities of energy self-sufficiency, macroeconomic stability, and inclusive development.
