According to the Anadolu Agency, Polat made these remarks during the opening of the Saudi-Turkish Investment Forum in Riyadh, held in the context of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to the Kingdom.
Also participating in the event were Saudi Investment Minister Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih and approximately 700 businesspeople and government officials from both countries.
The Turkish minister emphasized the importance of the Saudi market for Ankara, particularly in the energy and construction sectors, noting that Turkish contractors have completed 434 projects in Saudi Arabia with a total value of $32.5 billion.
He also reiterated that both countries aim to increase trade volume to $10 billion in the short term and $30 billion in the long term.
Meanwhile, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced the signing of a $2 billion investment agreement with Saudi Arabia in the solar energy sector.
The agreement, titled “Government Agreement on Renewable Power Plant Projects,” was signed by Bayraktar and his counterpart, Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, at the Saudi Ministry of Energy headquarters.
