The event, held at the headquarters of the Communist Party – Patria Roja, was convened by the Coordinating Committees for Solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution and for Solidarity with Cuba and Venezuela.
The main speakers were former Foreign Minister Hector Bejar, writer and social activist Ricardo Gadea, and Martin Guerra, leader of the Socialist Left party, who all called for continued solidarity with the Cuban and Venezuelan people.
Bejar focused on the context of the international right-wing offensive and pointed out that there is a new global oligarchy, distinct from the industrial capitalist bourgeoisie, as it is based on technology and speculation through tax havens and all kinds of trafficking, including that of women and girls.
This oligarchy has the intention to control the world, and the people must fight together to stop it, the political analyst and social activist summarized, calling for solidarity with Cuba and Venezuela.
For his part, Gadea pointed out that Donald Trump’s fascist clique is not only attacking Venezuela, but also threatening Cuba, Mexico, Nicaragua, Colombia, and Panama, in order to subject Latin America to its designs.
Martin Guerra highlighted the expressions of solidarity with Cuba and Venezuela and said that Trump’s policy continues a decades-long policy of hatred aimed at starving and driving to desperation those who have sovereignly decided never to submit to foreign interference.
