The incident occurred yesterday and left 14 people trapped in the control tower before they were evacuated by emergency teams.
According to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the fire affected operations in the control tower, leading to the temporary suspension of flights.
FAAN Director General Olubunmi Kuku stated that a remote control tower was subsequently set up and operations resumed.
He added that the injured are in stable condition and those trapped in the control tower were rescued and safely evacuated.
Olubunmi Kuku also stated that the situation is under control and investigations have begun to determine the cause of the fire.
