An Interior Ministry (MININT) release noted that the investigation also seeks to clarify the involvement of each of the perpetrators in these violent acts.
The text warns that the detainees’ statements are joined to a series of investigative procedures that strengthen the evidence against them; at the same time, new elements are being obtained that establish the participation of other individuals residing in the United States.
It adds that, since the beginning, the Cuban authorities have maintained timely communication with their US counterparts.
The statement indicates that US authorities conveyed on February 2 through diplomatic channels their willingness to cooperate in the investigation.
The document specifies that this cooperation could include the exchange of information, evidence, and other joint actions.
In accordance with the gravity of the events and the threat that terrorism poses not only to Cuba, local authorities, consistent with their historical stance on this issue, consider the reciprocal cooperation in confronting this scourge, which is dangerous for all humanity, a duty.
