“We start from the premise that to show solidarity with Cuba, one must first understand it, and that is why every Thursday, until April 12, we will be showing and analyzing four emblematic Cuban films,” Javier Larrain, director of the Correo del Alba magazine, told Prensa Latina in an interview.
Larrain, who is also a member of the Our America group and the Bolivian Chapter of the Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity (REDH), told that news agency that the films are “Memorias del Subdesarrollo” (Memories of Underdevelopment, 1968) by Tomas Gutierrez Alea, “Paginas del Diario de Mauricio” (Pages of Mauricio’s Dairy, 2006) by Manuel Perez, “Madagascar” (1994) by Fernando Perez, and “Conducta” (Behavior, 2014) by Ernesto Daranas.
He indicated that the feature films will be screened every Thursday at 18:30 hours Bolivian time in the Marcelo Quiroga Santa Cruz Auditorium at the Faculty of Humanities of the Universidad Mayor de San Andres.
