Ismail al-Thawabta, Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, accused the neighboring country of intensifying the siege against the coastal enclave, devastated after more than two years of war.
Al-Thawabta told the Safa news agency that the administration of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has imposed further restrictions on border crossings to control the flow of essential goods such as food, medicine, and fuel.
The official warned that these measures now only cover 10 percent of the population’s needs in the region.
He cited that since the start of the joint US airstrikes on Iran on February 28, only 640 trucks out of the planned 6,000 have entered the Gaza Strip.
