According to the official list, 864 candidates are vying for one of the 500 seats in the Legislative, while 4,227 will run for seats on provincial People’s Councils and 121,242 others for seats on communal People’s Councils.
The candidate’s structure essentially guarantees the proportion of women, ethnic minorities, people without party affiliation, and young people, in accordance with the guidelines of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the government’s online newspaper stated.
The publication also noted that the lists of candidates, their biographies, and platforms were posted at polling stations.
The basic conditions for organizing the elections are also guaranteed at the 72,195 polling stations across the country, and many localities have developed flexible voting plans for specific groups of voters, such as the elderly, people with disabilities, or those receiving treatment in medical centers.
It added that the work to guarantee political security and social order has been implemented rigorously.
