Thanh Man underscored that a general assessment shows so far that preparations for the March 15 elections have been carried out proactively, urgently, thoroughly, in a synchronized manner, and in strict adherence to legal regulations.

Thanh Man, who is also the chairman of the National Election Council (NEC), stressed that the selection of candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term is the most crucial aspect of the elections.

The parliamentary leader assessed that the nomination of candidates was carried out in an open, transparent, and democratic manner, in accordance with the regulations, guaranteeing continuity, coherence, and innovation, and noted that 864 candidates were announced for the 16th National Assembly in 182 constituencies throughout the country.

He emphasized that “the composition of the candidates guarantees broad representation from all social strata, sectors, areas, and regions,” and pointed out that the total number of candidates to join the People’s Council at the provincial level is 4,223, and for representatives at the communal level is 121,242.

Tran Manh also praised the fact that the process of compiling and reviewing the electoral register was carried out rigorously and in accordance with the law.
