Khorev underscored, “We are concerned about the development of the conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan, and our position is that the parties should find a solution as soon as possible to this situation through political and diplomatic dialogue.”
Afghan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid earlier declared that the Pakistani Air Force had launched attacks on a drug rehabilitation center in Kabul.
Due to that attack, patients at the facility were killed or wounded. Islamabad denied the Afghan authorities’ statement.
The Afghan Interior Ministry announced that the death toll from the Pakistani attack on Kabul had risen to 408, while at least 265 people were wounded.
Fighting resumed along the border between the two countries on the evening of February 26. Kabul announced that it was conducting a military operation in response to recent Pakistani airstrikes on Afghan territory.
Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif announced that his country and the Taliban government in Afghanistan were now engaged in open armed conflict.
