The Ministry described the document as a grave political provocation against the dignity and sovereignty of the North Korean state and labeled it politically false, full of misleading and scheming data that completely distort the policy on guaranteeing genuine human rights and their current status.
“In our country, where the State takes full responsibility for and promotes the rights and well-being of the people, genuine human rights are strengthened, specifically in accordance with the independent demands and interests of the working masses,” a ministry spokesperson stated.
According to the official, the scandal periodically stirred up at the UN by hostile forces accustomed to a biased and unhealthy view of the DPRK does not represent the public opinion of the international community, which aspires to justice and equality.
Similarly, it constitutes an act that contravenes the spirit of the UN Charter, which stipulates the principles of equal sovereignty and non-intervention in internal affairs.
The DPRK government criticized the prolonged adoption of human rights resolutions against its country at the UN and identified the trend as a reflection of the “politicization” and “double standards” affecting the international body.
