According to a statement from the Syrian entity, the agreement envisions an increase in gas production of up to 50% within one year, with the aim of strengthening national energy security and guaranteeing the stability of supply.
The Director of Corporate Communications for the Syrian Oil Company, Safwan Sheikh Ahmed, described the signing as a far-reaching strategic step.
“It is not just a technical cooperation agreement, but a turning point in our vision to consolidate energy sovereignty,” he stated.
The official explained that the project anticipates an immediate 25% increase in natural gas production during the first six months, with a target of over 50% by the end of the year. Sheikh Ahmed emphasized that the alliance with ADES constitutes “a pioneering model of regional economic integration,” combining international technical expertise with national interests to increase production levels.
He also stressed that the development of these fields will be an engine for the country’s economic recovery, directly supporting the industrial sector, easing the state’s financial burden, and ensuring the sustainability of the energy supply.
Damascus is promoting initiatives aimed at ensuring a stable level of energy security, in order to prevent disruptions that could affect national stability.
