During the meeting, held in Abu Dhabi, both sides analyzed regional challenges and emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts to preserve stability in the region.
The Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad al-Shaibani, and his Emirati counterpart, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, also participated in the meeting.
According to a statement from the Syrian Presidency, the leaders discussed strengthening economic alliances and boosting joint development projects, with the aim of advancing the common interests of both nations.
Al-Sharaa also reaffirmed Damascus’s solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and rejected any action that threatens its sovereignty, security, and stability, referring to recent tensions in the region.
The regional context remains marked by the conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel, following the military escalation that began on February 28, which left thousands of victims.
Subsequently, on April 8, US President Donald Trump announced a two-week truce, later extended without specifying its duration, in an attempt to contain the confrontation.
