During a visit to the Cuban Embassy in Islamabad the young doctors, who serve in hospitals in their country, reiterated their support for the people and authorities of Cuba and their rejection of the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade.
According to the head of the Cuban mission, Damian Cordero, these professionals are forever grateful for what they learned in Cuba, in terms of the rigor of their training, the reinforcement of values, and the practice of solidarity, with no other interest than to dedicate themselves, body and soul, to the sacred commitment of saving lives.
On this occasion, the Cuban diplomat listened to their experiences while studying in they Caribbean nation and their recollections of the Cuban cities where they studied, such as Santa Clara, Cienfuegos, and Sancti Spiritus.
“But what they treasure the most are the memories of the supportive people, the Cuban second mothers and grandmothers they left behind, the friends and siblings they made (…) and that admiration for the resilience of Cubans in overcoming the US blockade and continuing to celebrate life,” Cordero told Prensa Latina.
For his part, the Cuban ambassador explained the current situation in the Caribbean nation, which the United States is attempting to strangle with an oil embargo and its devastating effect on the daily lives of Cubans, in hospitals, and health centers.
Among other topics, they also discussed the activities planned to commemorate the centennial of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, whose figure is widely admired in the South Asian nation.
