The newspaper cited data from the Defense Ministry pointing out that, as part of the war, the IAF launched 23,860 attacks at the direct request of ground forces, aimed at providing immediate support during military operations against Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
Since the conflict started, Israel has also attacked Syria, Yemen, Iran, and Qatar.
The publication highlighted that among the changes adopted is the reduction of the safe distances for airstrikes near its ground forces, from 500 meters to 250 meters.
A new IAF unit was also established, specifically dedicated to countering enemy ground incursions, although the newspaper noted that former heads of that institution “strongly oppose this change.”
The United Nations noted that more than 80 percent of the buildings in Gaza Strip were destroyed or damaged by Israel, which also devastated much of Lebanon, especially the southern region.
Following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government in Syria in December 2024, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered an extensive airstrike campaign against military installations in that neighboring country.
