India’s AIPSO denounces US threats on Cuba

New Delhi, May 3 (Prensa Latina) The All India Peace and Solidarity Organization (AIPSO) described the recent US threat against Cuba as a serious escalation and a flagrant violation of the principles of sovereignty and non-interference.

In a statement, the Indian organization strongly condemned President Donald Trump’s latest decision to deploy the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln near the Cuban coast as an act of military intimidation and the continued hostile rhetoric from sectors of the US government.

The AIPSO stressed that such actions threaten peace and stability in the region and revive the specter of coercive power politics.

It also reiterated that the decades-long economic blockade imposed on Cuba is unjust, inhumane, and contrary to international law.

The Indian solidarity organization stated that adding a military posture to the blockade only deepens the difficulties faced by the Cuban people, while seeking to undermine their path to independent development.

Therefore, it called upon the international community, peace movements, and democratic forces worldwide to oppose these aggressive actions and demand an immediate end to the blockade and all forms of intimidation against Cuba.

Likewise, in this critical juncture, Aipso expressed its unwavering solidarity with the Cuban people, who, it affirmed, continue to defend their sovereignty with resilience and dignity.

It also reiterated its firm support for all those who fight for peace, justice, and the right of nations to determine their own future free from external pressures, and affirmed that Cuba will not stand alone in the face of such threats.
