They are all abanded to ensuring the event, running from May 7 to 9, with two days of online professional sessions and the final day open to the public in person at Josone Park in the Varadero resort area.
They extoled the fact that even tour operators and travel agents who lack official contacts with Cuba have registered for this year’s event and previously expressed their interest in learning about the recreational potential of the archipelago.
The Fair has been a meeting point for many professionals in the sector for several years, establishing itself not only as Cuba’s main tourism trade fair, but also for much of the Caribbean and Latin America, with significant connections to companies from around the world.
This meeting is being held online due to economic pressure from the United States against Cuba, especially regarding energy, which prevents regular airline flights to the island, according to the organizers.
However, this opportunity could not be missed, and as a resilience initiative, it has emerged to connect with tour operators, agencies, airline representatives, and suppliers.
Lessner Gomez, Director General of Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur), stated that he is certain flights to the country will eventually return, and it is necessary to be prepared for that.
Furthermore, this digital platform fosters the development of opportunities offered by new information and communication technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) for the benefit of tourism.
