Jose Antonio Aguilera, Cuban Tourism Counselor for the Latin American Southern Cone, noted that the Argentine executives are actively participating in the event, which is being held online for the first time through the FITCuba 2026 platform.
Aguilera stated that they have maintained a fluid exchange in meetings scheduled with service providers at the Fair through each provider’s virtual booth.
The Cuban tourism counselor told Prensa Latina, “Today we had a day of virtual meetings as if we were there at the Fair. All meetings were completed with positive results; everything really went quite well; it exceeded my expectations.”
This edition of FITCuba is taking place in a challenging global context and a scenario for the Caribbean nation, due to the economic stress it is experiencing, while maintaining its commitment to this industry as one of the pillars of its economy. The virtual nature of the event confirms this view.
Lessner Gomez, Director General of Marketing at the Cuban Tourism Ministry, recently told reporters the confidence of the sector’s authorities “that flights to Cuba will return at any moment, and we must be prepared with new, more innovative products. That is why we are holding the virtual Fair, to demonstrate that Cuban tourism is alive.”
Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz highlighted the importance of this Fair for generating revenue that “is used for the development of health, education, and the entire social sphere.”
