Adolfo Sarmiento Ramos, the company’s investment specialist, explained that the company reuses waste from all processed inputs, an effort that has earned it several awards in the sector.
The production lines collect unusable materials from the storage chambers and mix them with fibers from textile scraps in the garment workshop, which are then transformed into weaves for floor mats.
Likewise, yarns rejected due to quality standards are used to make commercial twine for the meat industry, candle wicks, and for various uses in healthcare facilities.
Sarmiento Ramos added that a machine created by the spinning mill’s innovators is used to braid ropes for weaving hammocks, which are finished with metal terminals and custom-made wooden accessories.
Similarly, the tow collected during machine cleaning at the end of each shift is recovered for cleaning tools in sugar and nickel mining companies.
Furthermore, the waste generated from the manufacture of plastic containers is ground up and reused in the production of cones and tubes for winding the yarn, ensuring the factory’s daily supply.
