The spokeswoman wrote on her Telegram channel that the Foreign Ministry decided to organize the visit to the site of the tragedy following statements by some Western countries at the UN denying that the attack had taken place.
“In response to the blatant lie spread in the UN Security Council by Western countries, particularly by the Permanent Representative of Latvia, who has lost all dignity, regarding the claim that there were no attacks by Ukraine against the school in Starobelsk, we will organize a visit to the site of the tragedy for foreign journalists accredited in Moscow,” Zakharova stated.
Authorities in Luhansk reported that Ukrainian troops used drones to attack the academic building and dormitory of a teachers’ college in Starobelsk, where 86 students were located.
So far, 10 people have been reported dead, more than 48 injured, and 11 others remain trapped under the rubble.
