In his remarks, Ruiz denounced the intensification of U.S. sanctions and the threats of military aggression against Cuba.
He also rejected the media campaigns that label Cuba a “failed state” and highlighted the country’s capacity to face challenges despite the limitations imposed by the economic, commercial, and financial blockade.
In his speech, he also condemned sectors that promote hostile actions against the island from abroad and defended the figure of Army General Raúl Castro, whom he described as a historical figure of the Cuban Revolution and a symbol of loyalty, steadfastness, and resilience.
As part of the day’s events, Cuban residents and friends of solidarity signed a document of support for Cuba, demanding an end to the blockade imposed by the United States, defending the island’s sovereignty, and rejecting any form of aggression against the Cuban people.
According to Ruiz, the signatures constitute “a commitment of honor” and represent the will of those who support Cuba’s right to decide its own destiny without external interference.
