The decision was announced during a meeting between this nation’s National Assembly President, Khuon Sudary, and United Nations Resident Coordinator in Cambodia, Vladanka Andreeva.
The meeting, held at the National Assembly Palace, addressed Cambodia’s progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as reforms aimed at strengthening parliamentary effectiveness and digital transformation.
Sudary highlighted the UN’s role as a strategic partner in Phnom Penh’s development process and underscored the country’s evolution from recipient of peacekeeping operations to active contributor to international missions.
The leader said that national priorities align with the government’s Pentagonal Strategy, which focuses on human capital development, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and digital transformation.
Andreeva, in turn, reaffirmed the UN’s support for Cambodia’s development priorities and praised the country’s commitment to multilateralism, international law, and peacekeeping operations.
