According to the Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Foreign Minister said during a joint press conference in Dhaka with his Bangladeshi counterpart, Khalil Rahman, that Israel is maintaining its military operations in Gaza and continuing its actions in the West Bank, which, he asserted, undermine the prospects for a political solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
He argued that the international community’s priority should be to halt the Israeli offensive and reduce tensions affecting the entire region.
He also reiterated the need to end the Israeli occupation and attacks on Lebanon, while emphasizing that regional stability and security are fundamental objectives of Turkish foreign policy.
Fidan warned that the crises in the Middle East are having increasing repercussions on the international balance and noted that the confrontations related to Iran affect not only the countries of the region but also the global economy.
In that context, he expressed Ankara’s support for diplomatic efforts aimed at preserving the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran and stressed the importance of guaranteeing freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, considered a strategic route for global energy supply.
