The health ministry specified that 24 deaths and 116 injuries were recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the previous toll to 3,613 dead and 11,072 wounded.

According to Lebanese authorities, Israeli military operations are escalating, particularly against towns in the south of the country, amid reports of violations of the ceasefire in effect since April 17.

The cessation of hostilities was announced with US mediation and, according to Washington, would remain in effect until early July, although Lebanese authorities report almost daily attacks on different areas of the country.

The escalation occurs against a backdrop of protracted border disputes. Israel maintains control over areas of southern Lebanon occupied for decades and other positions seized during previous conflicts.

According to Lebanese sources, during the current offensive, Israeli forces advanced more than 10 kilometers into the country, marking their largest ground incursion since the withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000.

Beirut authorities reiterated their calls to the international community to halt military operations and guarantee respect for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The conflict unfolds in a regional context marked by tensions in the Middle East, where territorial disputes and Israeli military operations persist in the occupied Palestinian territories and parts of Syria.
