According to an official statement, as part of his agenda, the official visited the Andres Bello Diplomatic Academy to follow up on commitments made during the visit by the Panamanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Javier Martinez-Acha Vasquez.
Un these meetings, both sides defined strategic areas to expand bilateral cooperation, including ongoing academic and bibliographic exchanges, the organization of joint seminars and activities, and the exchange of experiences in multilateral diplomacy, economic diplomacy, and foreign policy.
These initiatives aim to consolidate institutional ties and strengthen the training and development of future diplomats from both countries.
In the economic sphere, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Jose Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), thanking the organization for its contribution to the development of the National Strategy for the Export of Modern Services.
Hoyos emphasized that the implementation of this initiative will contribute to strengthening national economic development by boosting competitiveness, attracting investment, and generating quality jobs.
For his part, Salazar-Xirinachs underscored the strengths of the Panamanian economy and its role as a regional hub thanks to its geographic location, connectivity, and logistics platform—factors that solidify the country’s position as a key center for trade and services in Latin America.
