Spokesperson Lin Jian made this statement during the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s regular press briefing.

Lin affirmed that the use of force will only worsen the deteriorating situation and increase tensions in the region.

The spokesperson pointed out that military means cannot resolve the underlying problems facing the conflict.

He also underscored that the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of the countries in the region must be respected and protected.

China urged the parties to respond to the mediation efforts boosted by the countries involved in the search for a political solution.
