The Valencia Art Museum hosted members of the Venezuela-Cuba Solidarity and Mutual Friendship Movement (Carabobo chapter), members of the accredited diplomatic corps from Havana, and Cuban residents, to sing to the largest of the Antilles and pay tribute to Antonio Maceo and Ernesto Che Guevara.
On its Instagram account, Concuba Fidelidad (@fidelidadcuba), the Venezuelan friendship group wrote that this was an encounter overflowing with love, admiration, and solidarity with the Cuban people, “those who demonstrate every day that dignity is not negotiable.”
He expressed that while the Donald Trump administration tightens the imperialist noose with new punitive sanctions and punishments, “Cuba responds with culture, courage, and revolutionary tenderness.”
“In every chord, in every verse, the strength of the National Solidarity Campaign #LoveIsPaidWithLove was felt,” launched by the group last February with the goal of collecting medical supplies, food, and energy resources to mitigate the effects of the blockade on Cuba.
The Movement affirmed that neither hatred nor sanctions can “break the brotherhood that is born from the people and sown in the streets.”
He also thanked all those who made the “unforgettable afternoon in Valencia” possible, whose presence was a collective embrace of Heroic Cuba.
The Cuban Trova Afternoon was organized and supported by the Simon Bolivar Institute, the Cuban Embassy in Caracas, the Movement of Solidarity and Mutual Friendship, and the Association of Cubans Residing in Venezuela.
