The oldest friendship association with the island in France and Europe celebrated its 65th anniversary with a concert, in a significant demonstration of support for the Caribbean nation, besieged by an intensified US blockade.
The event, organized by the Parisian committee of the association, was part of the activities commemorating the centennial of the birth of the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, sources from the organization stated.
In addition to the president of the Parisian committee of the association, Roxane Prudhomme, Paul Estrade, one of the founders of France-Cuba, and the Cuban ambassador to France, Otto Vaillant, also spoke at the event.
Journalist Hernando Calvo reported that among those attending the event was Ignacio Ramonet, a Spanish intellectual residing in this country.
