Reports stated that the resolutions in the legislatures of Campeche, Jalisco, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Tabasco, Yucatan, and Mexico City were promoted by the parliamentary groups of the Partido del Trabajo (Labor Party-PT) in those demarcations.
The stances admit the impact of the energy siege and other actions of the blockade imposed by Washington on the Caribbean nation and show the commitment of broad Mexican political sectors to the principles of solidarity, cooperation, and respect for the sovereignty of nations.
The Cuban Embassy in this nation noted in a message on its X profile that the scope of this initiative goes beyond the seven demarcations where it was approved.
It highlighted similar proposals that “are being presented, discussed, or processed in more than 20 local congresses across the country, reflecting broad support for Cuba in several Mexican legislative bodies.”
Cuban Ambassador to Mexico, Eugenio Martinez, conveyed his “deep gratitude to the PT and the political forces that supported these initiatives, which reach the Cuban people as further proof that they are not alone.”
