According to the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA), Aoun made these statements in a meeting with a ministerial delegation comprised of representatives from Qatar, France, and the United Kingdom, in which he addressed the country’s political and economic situation.
The president noted that Lebanon’s stability “not only impacts the region but also extends its influence to Europe,” insisting that economic, financial, administrative, and judicial reforms are a national priority.
In this regard, Aoun maintained that the country “doesn’t need so much aid as investment,” and emphasized that the progress of ongoing reforms is key to strengthening confidence and improving the investment environment in various strategic sectors.
He also expressed his gratitude to the countries that support Lebanon, especially for their support of the armed and security forces, which he described as a fundamental pillar for internal stability and the recovery of the state.
The Lebanese president reiterated that the security institutions are a guarantee of stability and a necessary step to guide the country toward economic growth.
Aoun had previously stated that Lebanon would continue negotiations with Israel despite external pressure, based on what he considered the country’s national interests.
