Gonzalez, who is the director general of the Regional Center for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage for Latin America (CRESPIAL), gave a keynote address on the use of cultural rights and their importance.
Today’s program includes the panel “Homage to Fidel Castro Ruz,” with presentations by PhDs Rene Gonzalez, Elvis Rodriguez, and Maria Caridad Pacheco, moderated by specialist Jose Antonio Gonzalez.
The academic program will continue with three simultaneous sessions: Intangible Cultural Heritage, Museums, and the World Heritage Seminar.
The international event, running at the National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA) in Havana’s historic center, features in-person and online participation of specialists from Peru, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Italy, and Portugal.
