Italian airline NEOS expands flights to Cuba with Rome–Holguin route

Rome, Jul 2 (Prensa Latina) Italian airline NEOS has expanded its flights to Cuba by inaugurating the new Rome–Holguin route from Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, in the presence of Ambassador Jorge Luis Cepero, Raffaello Biselli, Advisor for Productive Activities of the Municipality of Fiumicino, and NEOS Commercial Director Aldo Sarnataro.

The ambassador highlighted the importance of inaugurating this new Rome–Holguin route, “which represents a significant step in strengthening the connection between Cuba and Italy,” as it will help reinforce tourism exchange and bring this destination closer to travelers from this country and from Europe.

Cepero thanked “everyone who made this important moment possible” and emphasized that Holguin is one of the most attractive destinations in eastern Cuba, “known for the beauty of its beaches, the richness of its natural landscapes, and its valuable cultural heritage.”

On behalf of NEOS, Sarnataro stated that “sharing objectives and the willingness to work together are fundamental elements for developing new opportunities for connection and exchange between both countries.”

For his part, Federico Scriboni, Director of Aviation Business Development at Rome Airports, acknowledged that “connectivity between Italy and the Caribbean is further strengthened with the new route to Holguin, which helps enrich the range of long-haul destinations from Rome.”

During this inauguration, a photographic exhibition of the international campaign “Unique Cuba” was presented at Leonardo da Vinci Airport (Fiumicino) in Rome, dedicated to promoting the natural, historical, and cultural wealth of the Caribbean country.

This new route expands travel options to eastern Cuba and continues to boost tourism exchanges between the two countries, reaffirming not only NEOS’ confidence in the potential of Cuba as a destination, but also that it keeps its doors open to visitors who eager to experience firsthand culture, history, natural beauty, and the warmth and hospitality of its people, even in the face of the sector’s challenges resulting from the tightening of the U.S. embargo and the fuel restrictions imposed by the United States.
