The cargo includes 400 tons of flour, 470 tons of medical and relief supplies, 1,650 tons of fuel, and 41,000 food baskets, according to a report released by the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), the Muslim equivalent of the Red Cross.
Fuel is vital for operating hospitals and other basic services for the hundreds of thousands of Gazans displaced due to the Israeli military aggression of more than 1,000 days, during which more than 73,000 civilians have been killed, half of them women and children.
Statistics from the Palestinian Health Ministry stated that the attacks also destroyed the network of services, including hospitals, as well as thousands of homes.
Since the beginning of the crisis in Gaza Strip, the ERC has maintained a presence at the Rafah border crossing, partially operated by Egypt, through which an undetermined number of wounded Gazans have passed to receive treatment in Egyptian hospitals.
