According to the state-run Al-Ikhbariya channel, the Internal Security Command of the Damascus Governorate explained that the device was located after preventive measures were taken and a security cordon was established in the area.
Specialized bomb disposal teams managed to neutralize the device and move it to a safe location, with no casualties or material damage reported.
The Al-Wuroud neighborhood administratively belongs to the Damascus-Countryside Governorate, although it is an urban extension of the Syrian capital.
The foiled attempt occurred less than 24 hours after a bomb attack on a cafe near the Damascus Palace of Justice, which left 10 dead and 21 wounded, according to official figures.
The Interior Ministry is conducting an investigation to identify those responsible for the attack, which has not yet been claimed by any group.
Syrian authorities maintain that operations are ongoing to dismantle cells responsible for actions aimed at destabilizing security during the current transition period, and reiterate their commitment to prosecuting those responsible and ensuring the protection of the population.
