Cuban Network in Latin America back up condemnation of US blockade

Santo Domingo, Jul 9 (Prensa Latina) The Network of Cubans Residing in Latin America and the Caribbean backed the address given by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez before the UN General Assembly, where a debate regarding the United States blockade of the island recently took place.

“Cuba spoke, and with it, so did all of us who love justice, sovereignty, and the truth,” stated the communique sent to Prensa Latina.

The Network, which brings together more than 28 organizations from across the continent, described the Foreign Minister’s words as “dignified, courageous, and enlightening”; he had denounced—this past Tuesday at the UN General Assembly—that the US blockade of his country kills and suffocates silently.

The Network reiterated that Washington’s policy against the Caribbean nation “constitutes an act of war, a brutal genocide that daily wreaks havoc on our families, and a crime against humanity that history will judge with unrelenting severity.”

Likewise, it condemned the lies and slander voiced at the UN by the United States delegation, which failed in its attempt to block the debate, while its representative delivered a speech rife with distortions and falsehoods.

“The disrespect, the tone of interference, and the crude manipulation displayed in that forum are nothing more than palpable proof of the desperation of an empire in moral and political decline,” the Network of Cubans maintained.

Such affronts “offend all of Cuba, us, and the intelligence of an international community that has said ‘enough’ to arrogance, lies, and the blockade,” it continued.
