Carmona remembered the experience of Vietnam, when young people, workers, students, and representatives of political and social organizations united in a front of solidarity with that nation.
The communist leader decried te tightening of Washington’s economic, commercial, and financial blockade on Cuba, which includes an oil siege, impacting all sectors of life.
He affirmed, “They are transforming this into almost a genocidal laboratory to see how much a people with food shortages and other needs can endure, and none of us can remain indifferent to this.”
Carmona spoke at an event at the Unitary Workers’ Union (CUT)’s headquarters commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada Garrison and the Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Garrison, a feat led by Fidel Castro.
The PCCh president told Prensa Latina that he will travel to Havana in August to participate in an international event of political parties and later in the activities on the 100th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.
Cuban Ambassador to Chile, Oscar Cornelio Oliva, expressed gratitude, during his remarks at the event, for the warmth and affection with which National Rebelliousness Day is being commemorated in this nation.
