Mexican Foreign Ministry regrets earthquake consequences in Japan

Mexico City, Jul 28 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico today mourned the consequences of the 7.1 magnitude earthquake recorded in Japan and conveyed its solidarity to the people of the Asian country.

“The @SRE_mx mourns the disasters caused by this Tuesday’s earthquake in Kumamoto, island of Kyushu, south of Japan, and expresses to her people the solidarity of Mexico in these difficult times,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Through a message in its social network account X, the portfolio pointed out that, so far, there are no reports of countrymen affected by the strong tellurian movement and asserted that the embassy there remains attentive to the development of the situation.

The Foreign Ministry published the contacts of the representation in Tokyo in case any Mexican person requires consular assistance or protection. As reported by authorities and media of the Asian nation, people are trapped in the shopping center Aeon Mall, the collapse of buildings and damage to roads, among other damages.
