Bolivia appoints new minister of the Presidency

La Paz, Aug 4 (Prensa Latina) Former Foreign Minister, Fernando Aramayo, was appointed as the new Minister of the Presidency of Bolivia, after being sworn in by the Head of State, Rodrigo Paz, during a ceremony held at the Casa Grande del Pueblo, the seat of government.

Aramayo replaces outgoing Minister Jose Luis Lupo as the coordinating minister of all Executive activities. Lupo’s appointment as Bolivian Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS) is pending Senate approval.

Alongside Aramayo, Hector Francisco Huanca was officially sworn in as Foreign Minister. Huanca previously served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment, and Integration.

President Paz stated that the changes mark a new phase and urged the new authorities to strengthen political and institutional coordination to consolidate the reforms implemented by the Executive.

He added that the Ministry of the Presidency will play a key role in coordinating with the Plurinational Legislative Assembly (ALP), the regional governments, municipalities, and several social sectors.
