The Rector of the University of Cienfuegos, Orquudea Urquiola Sanchez, and her counterpart at the Autonomous University of Queretaro (UAQ), Silvia Amaya Llano, led the academic meeting, the Cuban institution reported to Prensa Latina.
The UAQ Secretary of Internationalization Marcela Avila-Eggleton and other officials from the Mexican university accompanied Rector Amaya Llano at the meeting.
The dialogue focused on boosting joint research and consolidating the comprehensive development of the student community.
Urquiola Sabchez also delivered a keynote lecture as part of the events marking the 30th anniversary of the UAQ’s Doctoral Program in Engineering. The event facilitated an exchange of experiences and reflections regarding current challenges facing higher education in the region.

Both nations maintain a long tradition of cooperation in the academic sector, with student mobility programs and joint research projects dating back more than two decades.
