Tahir Hussain Andrabi, Additional Secretary of Arms Control and Disarmament, presides over the Conference meetings, representing Pakistan, The News reported.
The Foreign Ministry reported that Pakistan holds the final presidency of the Conference’s 2026 session and will therefore conclude its work for that year.
Pakistan will lead, during its term, the negotiations on the Conference’s annual report and the corresponding resolution in the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The United Nations Conference on Disarmament is the world’s single multilateral forum for negotiating disarmament and arms control treaties.
Based at the United Nations Office in Geneva, it brings together 65 member states, including all States possessing nuclear weapons.
