National Security Advisor Ajit Doval made these remarks at the meeting held in Beijing of special representatives on the border issue between the two countries, which he co-chaired with Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

According to the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides noted the progress in implementing the important consensus reached by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping in the Russian city of Kazan in October 2024 and in the Chinese city of Tianjin in August 2025.

The special representatives expressed satisfaction with the steady resumption of border exchanges, including the ongoing Kailash Manasarovar pilgrimage, and trade through the three designated border passes.

The diplomatic institution noted that, under the strategic guidance of Modi and Xi and a constructive and forward-looking spirit, Doval and Wang held a frank and in-depth exchange of views.

During his visit to China, the Indian national security advisor also met with Vice President Han Zheng.
