In a regular press conference, the diplomat stated that Pakistan remains convinced that lasting solutions to regional disputes can only be achieved through dialogue and diplomacy.

Islamabad will continue working to reduce tensions through peaceful means, he added.

The Pakistani ambassador also addressed the recent visit to Tehran by Army Chief Asim Munir, dismissing claims that it was in response to the interests of US President Donald Trump or Washington.

Andrabi reiterated that Munir’s trip to Iran was part of the mediation efforts that Islamabad is undertaking between the parties involved in the conflict.

He noted that Iranian leaders appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to reduce tensions and achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

The Pakistani diplomat added that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had also been in contact with his regional counterparts in parallel with Pakistan’s mediation efforts.

Regarding Afghanistan, he specified that Islamabad is willing to hold state-level talks with its neighbors, provided Kabul presents concrete evidence of significant and effective counterterrorism actions.

“For any dialogue to take place, the Afghan Taliban must guarantee that their country’s territory will not be used to perpetrate terrorist acts against Pakistan,” he stated.

He indicated that his government is prepared to maintain institutional coordination, leading to tangible and verifiable counterterrorism measures, as well as effective border management.
