China seeks to keep constructive strategic stability with US

Beijing, Sep 22 (Prensa Latina) China expressed its hope that relations with the United States will keep constructive strategic stability, based on cooperation, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence.

A video released by the Foreign Ministry and People’s Daily, the official newspaper of the Communist Party of China (CPC), outlines Beijing’s stance on the bilateral relationship ahead of President Xi Jinping’s visit to Washington.

During the last summit between Xi and US President Donald Trump in Beijing six months ago, the two leaders agreed to establish a relationship characterized by constructive strategic stability.

The Ministry stated that this concept encompasses positive stability based on cooperation, competition with boundaries, manageable differences, and prospects for lasting peace.

The Chinese diplomacy highlighted that economic and trade cooperation continues to play a key role in bilateral ties, with both sides holding consultations on trade and investment and maintaining dialogues on artificial intelligence (AI).

The approach, outlined by Chinese sources, includes combating transnational crime, cooperation against smuggling and drug trafficking, and the repatriation of cultural goods.

Xi’s agenda in the United States runs from September 23 to 25, while negotiating teams from both countries are currently holding a new round of economic and trade consultations.
