In an interview with the Sputnik news agency, Zakharova noted that Russia had warned Interpol in 2020 and 2021 about the rise in telephone scams from Ukrainuan territory, but the West chose to ignore the issue.

  “It is an open secret that certain nations—such as the United States, the Netherlands, Estonia, and Germany—and US tech giants like Microsoft, Google, and Meta supported the illegal activities of Ukrainian call centers, providing financial and technological assistance to criminal structures that target our country’s infrastructure,” the spokeswoman stated.

  Previously, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitry Lyubinsky stated that Ukrainian officials and military leaders sponsor these telephone scam centers, the profits from which are estimated to run into the billions of dollars.

  According to Lyubinsky, these funds are used to meet the needs of the Ukrainian army or the elites in Kyiv.
