During the mobilization—held for the second consecutive night—participants gathered in the rain to advocate for the re-election of Lula, the Workers’ Party candidate, and to express their opposition to Senator Flavio Bolsonaro of the Liberal Party.
According to *A Tribuna*, the event began with a general assembly at the Gragoata campus that brought together hundreds of students. This was followed by a march to downtown Niteroi.
Along the route, slogans were heard defending democracy and public universities, as well as advocating for the rights of women, Black and Indigenous people, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
Participants also called for an end to the “6×1” work schedule, which mandates six consecutive days of work followed by one day of rest.
According to reports, some residents of buildings along the route showed their support for the march by displaying flags and applauding.
One of the mobilization’s leaders, Education student Lua Pavenato, stated that the event marks the beginning of a youth campaign to defend public universities and oppose the far right.
“We are going to prove that Bolsonarism will not thrive in this country.”
