Cuba integrates MSMEs into National Internationalization Program

Holguin, Cuba, Oct 11 (Prensa Latina) Four micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) from this eastern province have joined the national internationalization program, reinforcing the territory's economic prominence and its contribution to Cuba's sustainable development.

The selection of these entities follows the conclusion of the call for applications for the “Booster” program—an initiative to boost the internationalization of Cuban MSMEs driven by the NAE Project—which seeks to diversify the business landscape and enhance exports.

Following a rigorous process that evaluated applications and included site visits among 54 candidates nationwide, the proposals from Holguin stood out for their operational solidity and direct community impact.

In the sectoral category focused on the agri-food industry, local entities Olines S.R.L., Productos del Valle S.R.L., and Las Reinas de las Soluciones S.U.R.L. distinguished themselves.

Additionally, within the geographic “booster” focused on information and communication technologies, the MSME Salva PC S.U.R.L. successfully secured a position.

This combined presence confirms Holguin province’s capacity to link food security with digital transformation.

The program is funded by the European Union and jointly implemented by French Cooperation, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Ministry of Economy and Planning, and the National Institute of Economic Research.

With their official inclusion, the region’s MSMEs enter a pivotal stage for strengthening their export management capabilities and adding value to the island’s economy.
