The ruling follows a request from the coalition *Brasil Pronto Para Mais* (Brazil Ready for More), which is backing the president’s re-election bid; the coalition accuses the tech company of selectively limiting the reach of campaign content and profiles linked to its political camp.
According to the president’s team, the series of technical issues—for which the company has offered no explanation—raises strong suspicions that Meta’s actions constitute an attempt to interfere in the Brazilian electoral process to the benefit of Flavio Bolsonaro’s candidacy.
As reported by the news portal UOL, the TSE also requested that Agencia Lupa and the *Democracia em Xeque* (Democracy in Check) Institute submit the methodologies used in their investigations into the circulation of political content on social media.
The campaign had previously accused the company of interfering in the electoral process after reporting difficulties in promoting posts on Instagram.
Arguments presented include a study by Agencia Lupa’s VigIA project, which identified a network of 255 Instagram profiles managed via artificial intelligence.
