Participants, including doctors and medical students, gathered outside the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque and marched to the historic Yakutiye Madrasa, carrying banners and flags of both Turkiye and Palestine.
Dr. Ahmet Kar, on behalf of the group, highlighted the initiative and noted that the Palestinians’ resilience in the face of the difficult conditions they have endured since October 2023 is a reason to sustain the mobilization.
Kar denounced the impact of the Israeli offensive on children, women, the elderly, and young people, and questioned the lack of an international response to the images of suffering emerging from the enclave.
He also called for a boycott of entities that, in his view, support injustice, and urged people to continue their prayers, protests, and civic actions in support of the Palestinians.
Figures stated that since the start of the Israeli offensive in October 2023, more than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 175,000 were injured, while about 90 percent of Gaza Strip’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed. jdt/iff/to/mche
