Vietnamese parliamentary leader pays official visit to China

Hanoi, Oct 11 (Prensa Latina) National Assembly (NA-Parliament) Chairman Tran Thanh Man traveled to China on Sunday for an official visit to co-chair the second meeting of the cooperation committee between the two legislative bodies.

Invited by Zhao Leji, Chairman of China’s Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), the Vietnamese parliamentary leader will visit the neighboring country with a high-level delegation until October 15.

VNA reported that Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung; National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Vietnam-China Parliamentary Friendship Group Nguyen Doan Anh; Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau; heads of parliamentary committees; and deputy ministers accompany Thanh Man.

The visit aims to complete the foreign policy objectives set out at the 14th National Communist Party Congress, held in January.

The two nations took a crucial step in December 2023 with the visit of the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President, Xi Jinping, when they agreed to elevate their relationship to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
